East beach: Normally refered to as Muizenberg beach offers a large sandy beach and shallow gentle waves ideal for children & swimming. Danger beach is an idylic, wind sheltered beach for sun-tanning but be aware of the possible strong tidal currents. Warm water is one of the reasons people choose False bay rather than the Atlanic sea board. During the summer months the average False Bay temperature is 6- 10 C degrees warmer.   For those that prefur tidal pools to open ocean, St James offers a tidal pool with a small sandy beach area for todlers while Brass Bell over looks another free public tidal pool with waves crashing over at the far end.
